1. What is Road Hazard Coverage?
Road Hazard Coverage is a goodwill program offered by Continental to assist customers if a tire becomes unserviceable due to certain road hazards. It is not a warranty that your tire will never fail.
2. What types of damage are covered?
Coverage applies to cuts, snags, punctures, bruises, or impact breaks that make the tire unserviceable.
3. Are there any exclusions to the coverage?
Yes, the following are not covered:
Original equipment tires (OE tires that came on your vehicle)
Repairable punctures as defined by USTMA guidelines
Tires used in competition or racing events
Misuse or abuse of the tire
4. How long is a tire eligible for replacement?
An eligible tire can be replaced if it develops an unrepairable road hazard condition within:
The first 2/32nds of an inch (1.6 mm) of treadwear, or
The first 12 months from the date of purchase,
whichever comes first.
5. How do I make a claim?
To make a claim:
Return to the original place of purchase or an authorized Continental dealer.
Present the tire(s).
Provide the original sales receipt showing the date of purchase.
If the receipt is not available, the DOT (Tire Identification Number) date of manufacture will be used to determine eligibility.
6. Are there any costs I need to pay?
Yes, the customer is responsible for:
Demounting, shipping, mounting, balancing charges, and taxes
Local tire disposal fees
Any additional services, including tire rotation, alignment, towing, road service, or valve stems
The replacement tire itself is provided free of charge if eligible.
7. Can I replace my tire with a different brand?
No. Replacement must be with a comparable Continental tire, and an invoice showing the replacement is required.
8. What do authorized dealers need to submit when processing a claim?
Dealers should submit:
Eligible tire(s)
Original purchase invoice
Proof of purchase showing replacement with another Continental tire
Reason for removal
9. What happens if my tire is partially damaged or has a repairable puncture?
Repairable punctures are not covered under this program. Only unrepairable road hazard damage qualifies for replacement.
10. Where can I find more information?
For complete details, including terms and conditions, refer to the full Road Hazard Coverage.
